Tinubu Should Be Commended For Fixing Things His Predecessors Couldn’t – Oshiomhole

The former National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Adams Oshiomhole has urged Nigerians to commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for taking the bold decision that Muhammadu Buhari and his other predecessors could not take.

Stating this while speaking with journalists on Wednesday Mr Oshiomhole argued that the president should be credited for fixing what former President Muhammadu Buhari and past presidents could not do.

The Edo senator expressed confidence that Tinubu’s administration will be remembered as the one who turned the nation’s socioeconomic and political fortunes around.

Tinubu, he claims, is already creating a solid foundation for the country’s prosperity.

“May this government be credited as the one that fixed what others could not fix. This will not be a government of lamentation, but one that will do what others failed to do,’’ Oshiomhole said.

He said the president broke the jinx in FCT ministerial appointments by appointing Nyesom Wike as its minister.

His statement mirrors the bold decision taken by the President Tinubu-led administration to end the fuel subsidy regime.

HeraldNG recall that both Muhammadu Buhari and Goodluck Jonathan had earlier attempted to remove fuel subsidy but were unable to take the decision which the country’s labour union at the time termed as an anti-people move.

However, on assumption of office, President Tinubu immediately removed the fuel subsidy and enforced the unification of the naira to the dollar exchange rate. This saw the pump price of fuel rise drastically from N189/litre to about N489 per litre.

Subsequently, the pump price of fuel has continued to increase currently selling at over N600 per litre, while the naira is been exchanged at N900 to 1 Dollar at the parallel market.
