Tinubu Responds To Jimi Agbaje’s Freedom For Lagosians Comment

Bola Tinubu

National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has responded to a comment by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Lagos, Jimi Agbaje that he would free the state if elected governor in 2019.

Agbaje said he would free the state from the stranglehood of Alphabeta Consulting, which he claims gets a percentage of every tax or revenue accruable to the state.

“In the last 20 years, Lagos has spent some N7 trillion, and we are asking what have we got for N7 trillion? Are we getting value for money?

“Out of that N7 trillion, there is a private company that takes a percentage of that N7 trillion, and we are asking, for what purpose? There is private company fund collector, Alphabeta or whatever, collects that much.

“We don’t even know what the percentage is; it could be 12 percent, 10 percent, it could be 8 percent,” Agbaje said.

Tinubu’s response came while addressing members of the APC at the Acme Road state headquarters of the party on Monday.

The former Lagos Governor said, “Those who said they wanted freedom should go and learn tailoring and vulcanising and we will do freedom for them later. They do not have the people.

“He was in the contest for the first and second times. He is in the contest for the third time. He will fail again.”
