Tinubu mourns late Lagos monarch Oba Kabiru Agbabiaka

President Bola Tinubu has expressed sadness at the death of the Osolo of Isolo in Lagos State, Oba Kabiru Adelaja Agbabiaka (Adeola Olushi III).

It was learnt that Oba Agbabiaka died on Wednesday after observing the Eid prayers. He was 64.

The Chairman of Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Olasoju Adebayo, confirmed the monarch’s death.

The monarch was subsequently buried at his palace, 3/5 Akinbaye Street, Isolo according to Islamic rites.

Reacting to the monarch’s death, President Tinubu said it filled him with “deep sadness”.

“The president sends his condolences to the family of the deceased monarch, the Council of Obas and Chiefs, as well as the Government and people of Lagos State,” Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale said in a statement.

“While mourning the passing of Oba Agbabiaka, the President urges his family and everyone grieving this painful loss, to take solace in the remarkable legacy left behind by the departed.

“President Tinubu prays to God Almighty to grant the soul of the late monarch peaceful repose and his family the strength to bear the huge weight of his passing,” the statement further read.
