You know when you go to your wardrobe wondering what to wear for an event or the other and you just can’t get past a particular dress, or pair of pants or something and so you throw it on because you feel most comfortable in it.
Well, that was the story of Girl’s Trip Tifanny Haddish and her white Alexander McQueen dress.
The actress had previously worn the same dress she wore for the Girls’ Trip premiere back in July. It’s also the dress she wore while hosting Saturday Night Live back in November.
Normally it’s considered taboo for a star to repeat a dress, but Haddish is having none of it.
“I wore it on the red carpet for Girls’ Trip and my whole team, they told me, ‘Tiffany, you cannot wear that dress on SNL. You already wore it. It’s taboo to wear it twice,’ and I said, ‘I don’t give a dang about no taboo,'” she shared while on SNL. “I spent a lot of money on this dress!”
Tiffany continued, “This dress cost way more than my mortgage … this is an Alexander McQueen, okay? It’s a $4,000 dress. I’m [going to] wear this dress multiple times! Real talk. You might see this dress in two sketches tonight, okay?”
But instead of a backlash, many see it as a cool move and a relatable thing to do. We’ve all been there, we all have a favourite dress.
You do you Tiffany, you do you.
