A teen bride, Sadiya Umar has been arrested by the Kano State Police Command for allegedly killing her husband, Sani Umar with poison.
The couple had been married for barely two weeks before the incident, which occurred in Yakassai quarters in the Kano Metropolis.
According to reports, Sani died at the Aminu Kano University Teaching Hospital barely 24 hours after eating his wife’s food.
The suspect reportedly absconded after the incident but was arrested on Monday, the Kano Police PRO, Magaji Majiya, said.
The incident comes barely three weeks after another 15-year-old bride, Dausiya Abdulmumin, killed her husband with rat poison in Katsina in December 2017.
