Chris Hemsworth said that being a father had stopped him from being as selfish as he was before.
The Thor star has three children with his wife – Spanish model, actress and film producer Elsa Pataky. Their eldest daughter India Rose is two and twins Tristan and Sasha were born last year.
Hemsworth, 31, said he had his “share of wild times” when he was younger, but settling down did not feel like a sacrifice.
He paid tribute to his wife, Pataky, saying she enables him to balance his work and family life because she is “totally supportive” of his career. But he also said he is more conscious of having gaps between projects to spend time with his family. He told website DAD.info:
“Your life becomes much more focused and you don’t have as much time to get distracted by unimportant things any more.
“You become a lot less selfish and you’re suddenly thinking almost exclusively in terms of creating the best possible life for your wife and children. But I don’t feel I’m giving up anything or making any sacrifices.
“I had my share of wild times when I was younger and that kind of stuff was never that interesting for me, anyway. When I met my wife, I was very comfortable with the idea that she was someone I wanted to share my life with and build something for the future.”
The Australian actor will return to his role as Thor in Avengers: Age Of Ultron.
