Former-Arsenal striker Thierry Henry is helping the Gunners in their attempts to sign Barcelona keeper Victor Valdes.
Valdes has announced that he will not extend his contract at the Catalan club beyond its current expiration in the summer of 2014, fuelling speculation that he could leave Barca at the end of the season.
According to Spanish sports newspaper El Mundo Deportivo, Arsenal could be the next destination for the 31-year-old with Henry working to bring him to the Emirates.
Henry is Arsenal’s all-time club record goalscorer, but also spent time at Barcelona – winning the Champions League with the club in 2009.
Valdes and Henry are close friends from their time together as teammates, and Wenger is thought to be a big fan of the Spain keeper.
