The opposition Peoples Democratic Parrty (PDP) in the Lagos state has alleged that President Muhammadu Buhari is protecting his ministers from corruption charges because of their financial contributions towards his election as President.
The PDP alleged that the ministers: Babatunde Fashola, Rotimi Amaechi and Chris Ngige are corrupt and should be probed.
In the statement issued on July 24, the PDP said that Buhari was obviously harbouring corrupt persons in his cabinet
The statement reads: “These are in the public glare and we are surprised that the president exhibits volte-face on these matters.
“For instance, Fashola has many corruption petitions against him during and after his tenure as governor of Lagos state.
“Groups such as True Face of Lagos, CACOL and individuals have their petitions unattended to by the authorities.
“The reported outcome of enquiry, which indicted Rotimi Amaechi, of unaccounted sum of N3 trillion, when he was governor of Rivers state, is lying unattended to by the authorities and Chris Ngige’s self-confession, about his practice at the Okija shrine, is still fresh.
“It is our further assertion that the financial contributions of these particular ministers account for why President Buhari continues to harbour them.”
