Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere react to England Euro 2016 Squad List

2 Min Read

The two Arsenal players have had contrasting fortunes where the Euro 2016 Squad List is concerned.

While Theo Walcott who has endured a torrid season at Arsenal where he started relatively well but later disintegrated into a pale shadow of what he’s capable of, missed out of the Euro 2016 plane with coach Roy Hodgson snubbing him.

Jack Wilshere on the other hand who has been injured for the whole season with just one start (yesterday against Aston Villa)  got a place on the plane with Hodgson keeping the faith with him.

Theo Walcott reacting to the snub tweeted “I am of course disappointed not to make the squad, but I have spoken with Roy and respect his decision. I wish Roy and all the team the best of luck for a successful Euros”

Jack Wilshere on the other hand said  “Absolutely buzzing! I can’t wait to meet up with the squad and start preparing for the euros. Thanks for all the messages. #England.”

Walcott’s future at Arsenal is in doubt after an indifferent  season and pressure piling on Arsene Wenger to bring silverware to the club. The need for better players is paramount and Walcott might find that he has to make way.

It remains to be seen whether any club is ready to take a swing at the 27 year old with his massive salary and history of injury problems.
