Usain Bolt has announced his retirement from professional football after he played a few matches for Central Coast Mariners. Bolt spent a total of eight weeks with the Australian club where he scored two goals in a friendly match against Macarthur South West. He had joined the club without an official offer, and when he was offered last November, he turned it down.
While sharing his experience so far on the football pitch with ESPN, Usain Bolt explained that he enjoyed his time as a footballer and “it was fun while it lasted”. However, he would no longer continue to play football professionally.
He stated, “I don’t want to say it wasn’t dealt with properly, but I think we went about it, not the way we should and you learn your lesson, you live and you learn. It was a good experience. I really enjoyed just being in a team and it was different from track and field and it was fun while it lasted
“I’m just doing many different things … the sports life is over, so I’m now moving into different businesses, I have a lot of things in the pipeline, so as I say, I’m just dabbling in everything and trying to be a businessman now.”
Usain Bolt still remains the world’s fastest sprinter in 100 and 200 meters racing.
