The senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial district in the National Assembly, Sen. Shehu Sani has said that the current government is “failing the people for now”.
He made this known while raising a point of order on the floor of the Senate on the “incessant killings and kidnappings in Birnin Gwari and Chikun LGAs” in Kaduna.
Sani, an All Progressives Congress (APC) senator, called for an urgent and serious action from the Federal Government in order to save lives and properties.
The senator demanded for a permanent military formation to protect the towns and villages in the area.
He said, “The simple and bitter truth is that the people of Birnin Gwari and Chikun live at the mercy of bandits and armed herdsmen. The bloodletting and horror must stop. The president must be told the truth. The government is failing the people for now.”
