Terry Begs Chelsea Fans To Support Mason Mount

Former Chelsea captain John Terry has suggested that there might be an ‘untold side’ to Mason Mount’s contentious departure from the club.

He also urged Chelsea fans to show their support to the former academy star when he returns to Stamford Bridge, spotting Manchester United jersey.

Mount left Chelsea for Manchester United on a £60 million transfer deal this summer. The 24-year-old midfielder who had been a fan favorite during his time at Chelsea, was embroiled in contract negotiations with the Blues last season.

Reports suggested that he had demanded a salary equaling that of Chelsea’s highest-paid player, Raheem Sterling.

Meanwhile, Chelsea legend John Terry, believes that it is crucial for fans to consider that there may be more to the story. He hinted at having insider information about Mount’s decision to leave Chelsea.

“Mase is proper Chels through and through. There’s always two sides to a story, and I know the other side to it,” Terry said during an interview with Knockout Events.

He added, “I’m not going to air that tonight, but there’s another side to the story. Let’s not be too harsh on him when he comes back.”

Mount had spent several seasons at Stamford Bridge under the management of Frank Lampard, Thomas Tuchel, and Graham Potter, before leaving this summer under Mauricio Pochettino.

During his time with the club, he made 195 appearances, contributed 33 goals and 37 assists, and played a vital role in Chelsea’s Champions League triumph in 2021, when he assisted the only goal that won Chelsea the prestigious European title.
