Tension As Dino Melaye Threatens To Beat Up Tinubu

Dino Melaye

Senator Dino Melaye, Kogi west senatorial district allegedly threatened to beat up Senator Remi Tinubu who represents Lagos Central Senatorial district.

Senator Melaye reportedly stated this during a closed door meeting of members of the Nigerian Senate on Tuesday, July 12.

The meeting had been called to discuss the alleged Senate Forgery case currently being faced by the Senate Leadership.

Senator Melaye from Kogi state had insisted that Abubakar Malami, the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) be brought before the senators, thoroughly grilled and humiliated because of the allegations he has charged the leadership of the Senate with.

The outspoken lawmaker therefore called on his colleagues to fight the presidency and also reportedly issued a lot of threats during the rowdy session.

Senator Tinubu, when asked to speak, reportedly stated that the Senate should not be reduced to a kindergarten where Senators could just issue childish threats.

This reportedly got Senator Melaye angry and he said: “I will beat you up on this floor and nothing will happen.”

The statement caused a commotion on the floor as Senators in her support gathered to protect her, according to Sahara Reporters.

In addition, the Senators held to be behind the current forgery trial were threatened with suspension.

Meanwhile, Senator Melaye has taken to his Twitter page to debunk the claim and express dismay at the report.
