Nigerian R&B star Tems is on the verge of making history at the 67th Grammys, according to Billboard. The music publication predicts that Tems will become the first African artist to win two Grammys in one night.
Tems is nominated in three categories: Best African Music Performance for “Love Me Jeje”, Best Global Music Album for “Born In The Wild”, and Best R&B Song for “Burning.” Billboard forecasts that Tems will win two of these categories when the awards ceremony takes place on February 2nd at the (link unavailable) Arena in Los Angeles.
According to Billboard, Tems’ “Love Me Jeje” is likely to win the Best African Music Performance category, ahead of other nominees such as Yemi Alade, Asake, Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Chris Brown featuring Davido and Lojay.
Tems is also predicted to win the Best Global Music Album category with her debut album “Born In The Wild”, competing against other nominees such as Matt B, Ciro Hurtado, Rema, and Antonio Rey.
The 67th Grammys will be hosted by South African comedian Trevor Noah for the fifth consecutive time, with Beyoncé leading the nominees with 11 nominations.
