Nigerian R&B superstar Tems has broken records with three nominations at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, solidifying her position as a trailblazer in the music industry.
Tems’ debut album, “Born In The Wild,” earned her a nomination for Best Global Album, making her the first Nigerian female artist to achieve this feat. Additionally, her single “Burning” secured a nod for Best R&B Song, marking her as the first African artist to be nominated in this category.
This achievement also makes Tems the first African female lead artist to be nominated outside of the global categories. Her three nominations bring her total Grammy nominations to six, extending her record as the Nigerian female artist with the most Grammy nominations.
Tems’ impressive haul places her second among Nigerians with the most nominations in a single Grammy year, surpassed only by Burna Boy’s four nods at the 66th Grammys.
The 67th Annual Grammy Awards will take place in 2025, and fans eagerly await the outcome of these historic nominations.
