Tekno ‘Bombs’ Hard At Abuja Concert

3 Min Read

On Saturday evening multiple artists performed at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton Abuja.

Artists like the old school Styl-Plus, Tekno and Flavour graced the stage.

El-carnival and Play Network organized the concert with N1 million Naira being the price for a gold table, N2million for Platinum table and 7000 Naira for regular tickets.

The crowd numbered about 1000 fans. Styl-Plus were the first graced the stage with performances evoking feelings of nostalgia amongst fans.

They played a number of hits such as, “Olufunmi” and “Imagine that” from the Expressions album and “four years” from the Back and Better album to the delight of the Abuja crowd.

Shifi a member of Styl-plus revealed his excitement to The News Agency of Nigeria. He said “It is always great to perform in Abuja because this is home. This is where it all began”.

Flavour N’abania then mounted the stage to perform in particular the “Ada Ada” song got many people up and dancing to his popular tunes.

Isioma Okolo a fan told The News Agency of Nigeria she was ecstatic watching her favourite artists perform.

She said “My favourite Nigerian musician has done it again, I have been to some of his shows before and he raises the bar every time.”

Flavour left a good taste in the spectators’ mouths as when Flavour alighted the stage Tekno stepped up for his chance to shine but let many of his Abuja fans down with his uninspiring performance as he murmured into the mic.

The singer was heard murmuring into the mic and sarcastically saying the money he was paid had finished, much to the disappointment of some of his fans.

Mr Emmanuel Kevin who had come from Keffi, Nasarawa State to attend the show expressed his disappointment.

“It was disappointing to see. I could hear him every time he instructed his DJ to change a song halfway through performing it. He seemed to be rushing somewhere”.

Another fan who preferred to be called Freda also expressed her disappointment in Tekno. “It was as if he did not want to be in Abuja”, she said.

Tekno has been criticised in the past for his bad attitude towards his fans. In September last year he disappointed fans in Kenya with a lacklustre performance as well as coming off the stage early and spending 20 minutes of his time just hyping up the crowd. This latest event will likely increase those criticisms.
