One of the biggest challenges faced by Tecno in its attempt to break into the premium smartphone market in Nigeria is the unavailability of over-the-air (OTA) updates.
But the company seems to have scaled the hurdle has it confirmed recently that models such as the Boom J7, Camon C8 and the flagship Phantom 5 are capable of receiving OTA updates, tech blog Techsuplex reported.
It also confirmed from a ‘reliable source’ that the Phantom 5 was not only capable of receiving OTA updates, but will also get the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system update ‘at some point in the future’.
The tech blog however said that the company has not officially confirmed the information.
If you are contemplating getting the Tecno Phantom 5 but are worried about the possibility of getting the android marshmallow on it, you can be rest assured that the update will be available in the not-so-distant future.
