The founder of the Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN), Pastor Temitope Balogun Joshua, popularly referred to as TB Joshua, has been awarded the 2015 Yoruba Man of the Year.
He was so honoured by 35 pan-Yoruba groups drawn from across the globe and acting under the aegis of the ‘Egbe Omo Oodua Parapo’.
Recall that 52-year-old TB Joshua and his church are being tried for complicity in the collapse of a building within the church premises that led to the death of at least 115 people.
But in the words of Dr Akinwale Adewunmi, the Chairman of the award committee, the award was given “to Pastor Joshua out of over 500 nominees screened by the Planning Committee of the Association for the honour and admiration he has brought to the Yoruba nation especially through his diverse philanthropic activities.”
