Tambuwal Finally Reacts to Atiku’s Primary Win

2 Min Read

Sokoto state Governor, Aminu Tambuwal has finally released a statement regarding the PDP primary win of Atiku Abubakar

The Presidential hopeful had been one of the politicians hopeful of winning the PDP ticket before being defeated by Atiku.

Tambuwal has had presidential ambitions for a while even decamping from the APC to PDP simply because he wanted to have a chance to run.

In a letter dated, 8th October, the Sokoto state governor wrote to Atiku, congratulating him on his win and pledging his support.

“On behalf of myself, my family, and millions of my supporters from across the length and breadth of the country, I heartily rejoice with and congratulate you on your emergence as the flag bearer of our great political party, the PDP.

“Your emergence through a transparent process is a testament to the fact that the PDP is now a reformed party and has sent a strong signal about our resolve to bring about the desired national transformation needed to turn around the fortunes of our beloved nation Nigeria,”  the letter read.

The Sokoto governor could also find himself in a bit of a political limbo as his presidential ambitions means that he could lose out on a second term as Sokoto governor.

As things stand, PDP are yet to name him as their representative for the gubernatorial elections with Mr Dan-iya still the person backed by the PDP to win in Sokoto.
