First Lady, Aisha Buhari has urged Nigerian men to have feelings for their wives and stick by them whatever the situation.
Mrs Buhari said this in Abuja on Friday while personally distributing gifts to patients at the Kubwa General Hospital.
She said “I am here today to tell you that we do not forget you. We have you in mind,” while explaining why she choose to give out gifts to people who couldn’t celebrate Christmas at home.
While speaking to one Helen Agada, a woman who was abandoned by her husband after she had an operation in the hospital, the first lady said “I am not happy when I meet a lady who had several operations and her husband ran away and left her.
“I think men should have feelings for their wives.”
She urged Nigerian men to support their wives and remain firm as the pillar of the home especially during trials and tribulations.
Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Bello while commending the first lady’s gesture said I am happy for the visit. You can see the happiness reflected on the faces of the patients and staff because of the gifts given to them for Christmas.
“I pray to God to empower you so that you can continue to do more in restoring happiness to the lives of the people.”
The first lady who wished Nigerians a prosperous new year also urged everyone to be law abiding.
