Nigeria’s Aruna Quadri and Egypt’s Omar Assar will be representing the continent at the annual ITTF table tennis world cup.
Aruna had already qualified in July as the winner of the ITTF Africa Cup and the Egyptian was just confirmed as the second continental representative based on his world ranking.
Africa will be presenting two players for the first time in history at the annual championship.
They will be representing Africa in the Men’s event of tournament set to hold October in Liege, Belgium.
President of the African Table Tennis Federation (ATTF), Khaled El-Salhy described the development as a giant leap for table tennis in Africa.
