A suspected internet fraudster popularly called ‘Yahoo boy’ has been arrested by the police after he was caught trying to dump the lifeless body of his girlfriend in a bush in a community in Delta State.

Although the identity of the suspect has not been confirmed, the victim was identified as Blessing Akpovwovwo.

The Yahoo boy was said to have been caught by a passerby on Thursday night as he attempted to dump the body in Urhuoka community, Abraka in the Ethiope East Local Government Area of the state.

It was gathered that the lifeless body of the lady was intact, indicating that no body part was removed.

However, the victim’s body was said to have bloodstains around the vagina area, fuelling fears that the lady had an abortion and the foetus could have been used for rituals.

Head of Ugono-Abraka community, Chief Samuel Umunadi confirmed the incident to reporters on Saturday.

He said that local vigilantes informed him about the Thursday night incident, which he said has thrown the community into mourning.

The spokesman of the Delta State Police Command, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, has yet to confirm the incident and the arrest of the suspected Yahoo boy.
