The long arms of the law have caught up with an alleged human trafficker as she has been arrested by the Lagos State Government on Saturday over a plot to traffic four girls to Libya under the guise of helping them secure hair-dressing jobs in the country.
It was gathered that the 35-year-old Libyan returnee, Mrs Ganiyat Ajijola, had perfected plans to get international passports for the affected girls as a prelude for taking them out of the country to become hairdressers in the North African country.
Ajijola was picked up at the Abule Egba area of the state by a team of the State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation who were acting on a tip off.
It was gathered that the girls were to be transported by road through Kano to Libya.
According to an official of the state government, Mr. Femi Malik, the suspect was taking the girls for illegal jobs in Libya.
However, Ajijola denies the claim, saying that she was only helping the girls to secure jobs in the same hairdressing saloon she worked on getting to Libya in 2010.
She claimed to have a contact in Libya who contacted her to supply some girls who could work in the hairdressing saloon.
