Police officers attached to the Oyo State Police Command have apprehended two middle-aged men, Basiru Abdullahi, and Martin Adekola after they were caught in possession of human skulls.
The suspects who have been identified to be locals from Ede part of Osun state were paraded before newsmen along with other 53 suspected criminals who had committed offenses such as cultism and robbery.
Basiru and Martin were taken into custody on July 11 following the inconsistency in their explanations on how they got the human skulls.
In his reaction, the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sina Olukolu, explained, “On July 11, 2019, at about 1600hrs patrol team attached to Ikoyi Ile/Ogbomoso road led by inspector Benjamin Olayiwola intercepted Abdullahi Basiru and Adekola Martin both of Oja Funi Area, Ede, Osun state with two human skulls.”
The suspects are expected to be arraigned in court after further investigations into the matter have been concluded.
