A Nigerian man has been arrested in Germany on suspicion of being a member of the dreaded Boko Haram terror group.
According to The Nation, the suspect identified as Amaechi Fred O was picked up by security agents in Bavaria on Wednesday.
Amaechi, 27, was ordered remanded in prison custody by a court on Thursday.
A federal prosecutor said in a statement that the suspect was heavily linked with the terror group, which has wreaked havoc in the northeast of Nigeria since going violent in 2009.
More than 20,000 have been killed and over two million displaced.
The prosecutor said Amaechi admitted joining the group in 2013 and has taken part in four coordinated attacks against Nigerian civilians during his one-year membership.
The suspect is accused of taking part in attacks on a church, a school, and two villages, leading to the death of several people, kidnapping of some girls and burning down of the church.
