The Secretary of the Coalition, Mr Peter Okorafor, made the call at a news conference in Abuja on Friday.

He said that people with political experience would assist in resolving crises rocking the party in some parts of the country.

Okorafor said the vacant positions in the NWC remained the primary cause of the problems.

“The political administration is not a free for all. It has to do with competence and experience. It has to do with a record of service in the political party affairs or administration.

“A situation where by the party will be functioning without critical or important offices, to us is capable of causing the problem we are going through.

“We are advising the party to come together in a shortest possible time to fill all the vacant positions. For instance, look at the position of National Secretary of the party.

“Few weeks ago, we all heard in the media when NWC announced the National Secretary for the party in the person of Waziri Bulama and one month today he is yet to be received at the secretariat of the party,” he said.

Okorafor urged the party’s national leaders to ensure that the crisis do not spread to other states.

“I want to advise further, so that such situation will not linger to other states or zones where there are vacant offices.

“`For instance, in the South-East, the National Auditor of the party was appointed as Director-General of a parastatal, his position became vacant,” he said.

Okorafor urged the party to avoid any situation that could deepen the crisis in the zone.

“As you can see APC is not well grounded in the South-East, So, they must position somebody from the East with requisite experience that will help strengthen the party in the zone.

“We understand that the position of National Auditor has been macrozoned to Anambra. Stakeholders from the East and the national level should make sure the windows are opened to all people with political experience.

“APC should continue with Electoral Act process of 2018 where convention produce aspirants.

“Let those aspirants that are duly screened by the party be considered for filling of those positions,” he said.
