A superb performance from Lionel Messi and Julian Alvarez ensured that Argentina crushed the 2018 finalist, Croatia on Tuesday night.
The 35-year-old Messi is on a quest to finish strong in his international career, scoring one and setting up Alvarez for another as the Albiceleste thrashed Croatia 3-0 and zoomed into the World Cup final.
It will be the Argentine captain’s second final appearance, losing narrowly to Germany in the 2014 World Cup final in Brazil.
Lionel Scaloni’s side will face the winner of the second semi-final game between France vs Morocco in Sunday’s final.
A victory for Argentina at the Lusail Stadium on Sunday could very well cement Messi’s claim as the greatest of all time.
