The Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, said the Super Eagles were determined to win their last match in Group B for the 2018 World Cup against their Algerian counterparts on Saturday in Uyo.
Dalung said this on Tuesday when Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, came to cheer the team up during the team’ s training session at the Abuja National Stadium,.
According to him, there are signals pointing at the team’s determination to win the match against Algeria National Football Team.
“The Super Eagles are determined to win the ticket for the 2018 World Cup, as demonstrated by beating Zambia in their home for the first time. It is a good signal of determination .
“Our team is ready and more organised despite all our challenges, the football family is focused to win the ticket for the nation.
We need to maintain good welfare so that the players can be comfortable to win all the matches they are going to play to qualify for the World Cup.
“We will appeal to you for your continuous support because football is a very expensive project , we will have more matches to play,” he said
The Minister thanked the Vice President for making out time out of his very busy schedule to cheer up the team at their preparation for the world cup qualifier.
“This evening, we are rounding up our training for the World cup qualifiers campaign and we are overwhelmed that out of your busy schedule, you still find time to visit us,” he said.
Osinbajo commended the team for their seriousness to pick the world cup ticket, while pedging Federal Government’s support toward realising that objective.
The Super Eagles will play against Algerian at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Saturday having won Zambia 1-2 in their home .
