The Super Eagles have come under fire after a video went viral on Twitter which showed some of them seemingly snubbing Austrian fans who came out to welcome them.
The Nigerian team have generated a lot of buzz over their jersey campaign which has caught the fascination of the world and therefore they have become somewhat overnight celebrities.
They are in Austria for a training camp that is supposed to be a warm-up before the World Cup which starts in a little over ten days.
The Austrian fans were out in full voice, cheering and waving at the Eagles, but to the dismay of many Nigerians, a couple of the players didn’t seem to acknowledge the accolades thrown their way.
The video is only 45 seconds long and showed just a few of the players coming out and not everyone, so perhaps the other players were more generous with their greeting.

Why are the boys not acknowledging the greetings and cheers? This is a lesson team handlers need to impart on them. You consciously make friends…

Thank you Austria! I don't understand why the few players I saw didn't acknowledge the cheers.

I would have been very happy had our players weved and acknowledged the cheers instead of behaving as if it's one of those boring moments.

Haba! So, these players didn't know they should acknowledge the honor by air-blowing kisses, waving, shaking a few hands, etc??? Wow!

Hooo, why this attitude??
— Ben Ogandaga (@OgandagaBen) June 3, 2018
It's good to see this. But it would have been better the players give hi fives and or sign autographs for those kids cheering them

The Nigerian team lost 2-1 to England on Saturday with a goal from Gary Cahill and Harry Kane giving the Three Lions the lead before Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi pulled one back for the Super Eagles just after half time
