Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu reveals next club (Photos)

2 Min Read

Super Eagles midfielder, John Ogu says he is waiting for the “right project” before deciding where to pitch his tent ahead of the 2019/2019season.

The 31-year-old ran out of contract with five-time Israeli champions, Hapoel Beer Sheva in the summer after a five-year stay and is believed to be eyeing a move to Europe.

However, taking to his verified Twitter handle on Wednesday, the 2019 AFCON Bronze medallist assured his fans that he would only make a move if the team is right.

“I’m aware that TeamOGU are all curious to know where I will be playing next . I just want to urge my fans to stay calm. I’m waiting for that right offer, team, project. I Love all TeamOGU,” John Ogu wrote.

Ogu also shared some cute photos of himself.

The former Leiria and Academica star recently told BBC Sport that he was keeping in shape ahead of a potential move to Europe.

Ogu said, “I’ve stayed physically fit and mentally ready from the Nations Cup in Egypt knowing anything is possible for me in this window.

“My agent is focused on what options there are for me and I personally just stay dedicated to getting myself in the right shape.

“I believe in myself and I know I still have a lot to offer to a club in Europe and that remains my mentality which is to be ready for top football.”
