Saad Abubakar, the sultan of Sokoto, has again spoken on the security challenges in Nigeria, saying something worse than Boko Haram may emerge in the northern part of the country.
Abubakar made known on Friday while raising an alarm over what he described as a looming security concern that could be worse than the Boko Haram issue.
Speaking at a security meeting in Kaduna, the sultan of Sokoto expressed his concerns over the growing number of orphans in the region as a result of insurgency.
The sultan warned that if nothing was done about the situation of the orphans, they could turn out to be a bigger problem than Boko Haram.
Abubakar said several recommendations made to address the issue of the orphans had not been implemented.
