The immediate-past Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari, has berated leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for rejecting the Supreme Court judgement on the 2019 gubernatorial election in Imo State.
Recall that the Supreme Court on January 14 sacked Governor Emeka Ihedioha of PDP and replaced him with Sen. Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The leadership of the main opposition party rejected the judgement, describing it as “accursed”.
The PDP leaders also protested the judgement at the United States Embassy and United Kingdom High Commission in Nigeria on Friday.
But Yari slammed the party leaders as hypocritical noisemakers.
He said they could not welcome the Supreme Court judgement that barred the APC from producing any candidate in Zamfara in 2019 and at the same time reject an unfavourable judgement on the Imo gubernatorial poll.
Yari stated this on Friday when he visited the National Secretariat of APC to congratulate the National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole on the Imo court judgement.
“We have come to visit the party’s National Chairman on the issue of Supreme Court after the judgment and also intimidation by the opposition PDP who are making noise about the issue.
“If the PDP makes noise on issue of Imo what about Zamfara, what are we going to say, did we make any protest? We did not come out to the streets to protest after Nigerians said the judgment of Zamfara was a miscarriage of justice,” Yari said.
