Speed Darlington Released on Bail After Arrest Over Burna Boy Controversy

1 Min Read

Speed Darlington, a popular Nigerian media personality, has been released on bail from police custody after being arrested and detained since last Friday. His arrest was due to a formal complaint filed by Burna Boy, who accused Speed Darlington of defaming and cyberstalking him.

The controversy started when Speed Darlington made a video questioning Burna Boy’s Grammy award win for his album ‘Twice As Tall’ and his affiliation with US rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’, who’s facing charges for sexual exploitation and human trafficking.

Following his release, human rights lawyer Deji Adeyanju thanked those who contributed to Speed Darlington’s release and praised the police in the IRT department for their professionalism.

It’s worth noting that Speed Darlington’s mother had earlier alleged that Burna Boy and his team were responsible for her son’s disappearance, and she begged Burna Boy to release her son in a viral video.
