Spanish Embassy in Nigeria says preparations were on to hold a contemporary dance concert titled,
“Alguien Vendrá a Buscarnos” to promote dance culture in Nigeria.
The Cultural Adviser of the Embassy, Ms Eva Barta Martin, said on Wednesday in Abuja that dance was an innovative performance art that engaged wide-ranging communities to create meaningful change in the world.
Martin said in a statement that it was important to show how thorough dance could help people to express themselves, show happiness and positive feelings.
“We arrive in the world alone and despite the people we come across we never stop being alone during the best and the worst moments.
“Our conscience and internal loneliness take us to that point where we are always searching for places and people that make this path in our lives less tough.
“Time as we all know is relative, finally everything is up to how you face events; this is why dance is important.”
She further underscored the importance of dance as a tool that could be used by people to share their feelings and even enter into spaces, saying it meant a million messages all at once.
Martin said the Spanish concert would feature choreography, music performance and dance by “Compañía Fernando Hurtado”, a dance group, among other artistes on Friday, Sept. 27 at 7p.m at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.
