The Spanish national team have appointed Luis Enrique to be their new national coach.
The La Roja were knocked out of the Second round of the World Cup by hosts Russia on penalties and afterwards, interim coach, Fernando Hierro stepped down.
The Spanish team was in a bit of a mess before the tournament as they were forced to fire coach Julen Lopetegui who was poached by Real Madrid.
The National team was without a coach three days to the competition and Hierro had to leave his role as Director of Football to coach the team in the World Cup.
Speaking at a press conference, Spanish FA chief Luis Rubiales said: “The decision has been unanimous. This selection complies with all parameters from the sports management criteria.
“Luis Enrique comes with his staff, but he will talk about that next week.”
Enrique, a former Spanish player himself, wore the famous red shirt on 12 occasions as a player and had before now coach Barcelona to a treble and before that Roma and Celta Vigo.
