He said that the APC flagbearer secured 8,794,726 votes, which is the highest of all the candidates, and got 25 percent of valid votes cast in 30 states of the federation, surpassing the constitutional requirement of 25 percent in 24 states of the federation.
His closest challengers, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) got 6,984,520 and 6,101,533 votes respectively.
In the statement obtained by The Herald, Boyo urged the president-elect to bring his well-known leadership acumen to bear in piloting the affairs of the nation towards the path of development.
He noted that the South South Grassroot Door 2 Door 4 BAT was thankful that its efforts reflected not only in Tinubu’s overall victory but also in the APC’s relative success in the South-South geopolitical zone, where it picked up many senatorial seats, including two in Delta, two in Edo and two in Akwa Ibom states.
He explained that as its name suggests, the group mobilised its members and embarked on door-to-door campaigns to bolster the APC’s chances across many states in the region.
Boyo expressed gratitude to the group’s members for their unalloyed belief in Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda.
Boyo, who is from Delta South senatorial district, said that the group could not have implemented its programmes that resulted in the APC’s victory without dedicated members, including Ndoma Jude Irek, Cross River Central senatorial district; Nathaniel Otaba, Cross River Central senatorial district; Patrick Efe Oghenerhoro (PALEKE), Delta Central senatorial district; Ms. Gbubemi Mofe Boyo, Delta South senatorial district; Rt.
