A South African returnee identified as Kingsley Okonkwo has been paraded alongside 15 other suspects at the Enugu state Police Command Headquarters, for their alleged involvement in an armed robbery attack.

The suspect who hails from from Agbogugu, Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State, is said to be among evacuated from South Africa few weeks ago.
The Enugu state Commissioner of Police, Ahmad Abdur-Rahman made this disclosure while speaking to newsmen on the latest headway the Police has made in curbing crime in the state.
Abdur-Rahman also highlighted one of the major points of their breakthrough, mentioning the recovery of some stolen items such as one tricycle, four arms, 13 handsets, four cartridges and three motor vehicles.
The Police Commissioner in his address to newsmen, explained that the suspects were arrested on different charges ranging from defilement, murder, conspiracy and possession of illegal arms.
“These achievements were made possible through intelligence-led policing measures put in place by the command,” Abdur-Rahman said.

The Commissioner reiterated the goal of the Police to reduce crime rate in the state and in extension the country. He also said the Police is activating proactive measures to fight crime taking into consideration human rights and in adherence to the rule of law.
