A man who shot his wife and two others to death in his home in Los Angeles, California on New Year’s Eve was himself shot dead by his son who recovered the gun from him before shooting him.
The 54-year-old man shot his wife, his son’s girlfriend and a 27-year-old man who was visiting the family on that fateful day.
Before the incident, the son identified as 33-year-old Christopher Morey was taking care of his 54-year-old mother with the help of his 48-year-old girlfriend.
The son and his girlfriend were living with his parents in their house located in the Rowland Heights area of the city when the incident occurred.
According to the county sheriff’s office, the 54-year-old man was a heavy drinker who had a large gun collection and had already attracted the attention of police in the past.
Morey is being held on a suspicion of murder with bail set at $1 million while police is still talking to surviving witnesses to establish the circumstances that led to the shootings.
However, The Guardian reported that the shootings were connected with a dispute over the use of a washing machine.
