A video has emerged of the moment naval personnel danced in jubilation at the replacement of the nation’s service chiefs.

Recall that the president replaced the service chiefs appointed in July 2015 with fresh hands on Tuesday.

In a statement signed by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, President Muhammadu Buhari announced that Major-General Leo Irabor replaced General Abayomi Olonisakin as Chief of Defence Staff; Maj.-Gen. I. Attahiru replaced Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai as Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral A.Z Gambo replaced Vice Admiral Ibok Ekwe Ibas as Chief of Naval Staff; and Air-Vice Marshal I.O Amao replaced Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar as Chief of Air Staff.

In a 20-second amateur video shot after the announcement, some naval personnel could be seen jubilating.

Popular online medium Sahara Reporters, which shared the video, reported that the situation was the same in some Nigerian Army barracks and formations across the country.

A narrator in the video could be heard saying, “People dey happy say they don change CNS (Chief of Naval Staff) o.”

Watch video as shared by Sahara Reporters:

While the location of the barracks could not be immediately determined, there were indications that it is located in the Federal Capital Territroy (FCT), Abuja.
