Snoop Dogg’s son Cordell Broadus, who signed with University of California before abruptly quitting, has revealed he only played American Football so his father would love him.
The 18-year-old was offered scholarships at some from some of the country’s best programs after finishing his time at Bishop Gorman High School having won the Nevada high school state championship.
But his promising career came to a premature end after he decided to not show up for training camp in August. And in a touching tribute in honour of his rapper father’s birthday this week, the teenager posted a picture of the pair hugging.
Alongside the image, he wrote: ‘I played football for my father because I thought that was the only way he would love me & be apart [sic] of my life. It took me 12 years to realize he loves Cordell Broadus the person not Cordell Broadus the football player. The best day of my life was when I heard those exact words. I love you dad hope you have a great birthday.’
