Four law enforcement agents have been confirmed dead with another 11 shot by snipers at a protest in Dallas.
The protest was due to the shooting of Alton Sterling and Philando Castille by police officers.
The Internet has been swarmed with people outraged by the killing of the 2 African American men, heavy criticisms levied against the police.
The shooting started at about 9pm as said by Dallas Police chief David Brown.
“We believe that these suspects were positioning themselves in a way to triangulate on these officers from two different perches in garages in the downtown area, and planned to injure and kill as many law enforcement officers as they could,” said Brown.
Initially only three officers were killed but Dallas Police through their social media outlets confirmed the death of a fourth office who was in surgery but didn’t make it.
So far 3 suspects have been taken in, a woman and two men. Their identities are unknown. Another man whose picture was circulated by Dallas Police as a person of interest has also turned himself in.
The shootings which happened at a black lives matter protest have been rumoured to be revenge of some sort against police officers, with David Brown even saying, “The suspect has told our negotiators that the end is coming, and he is going to hurt and kill more of us, meaning law enforcement,” but as of the moment an official motive has not been released.
