A lady identified as Adegoke Ifeoluwa, played a fast one on a Special Anti-Robbery Squad official who asked for a bribe.
She paid the bribe and then sent the details to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Yomi Shogunle via Twitter, exposing the corrupt official and putting him in deep trouble.
The lady claimed that she was on her way to a shoot in Ikorodu when she was ambushed by the SARS officials who demanded a bribe for no real reason and claimed that they’d ‘waste’ them with no consequences.
The woman, apprehensive, claimed not to have any cash but would be willing to do a bank transfer which she did and after the corrupt officer received an alert, she was let go.
Incensed by her treatment at the hands of a law enforcement agent, Ifeoluwa then took to Twitter to talk about her unpleasant experience and also tagged the ASP, on the tweet.
Her tweet read: With my encounter today, it’s safe to say SARS are armed rubbers. Was going for a shoot in Ikorodu today & armed members of SARS pulled us over & made us pay for no reason. Threatening they were gon waste our lives. I made a transfer so they can be traced. @YomiShogunle
Shogunle responded stating that the culprit had been identified as Inspector Olushola Charles Omotosho, attached to FSARS, Ikorodu, Lagos. He also stated that the culprit was in custody and he apologised for the bad experience.
Shogunle tweeted: My Dearest @ife_luv12,
I am glad to inform you that account owner has been identified – Inspector Charles Omotosho, FSARS Ikorodu, Lagos.
He is under custody, preliminary investigation ongoing.
PCRRU will inform you on next line of action.
