The long arms of the law have caught up with a 21-year-old man, Samuel Emobor Oghenekporboro who allegedly killed his 58-year-old mother, Mrs Christiana Ighoyivwi, and proceeded to have carnal knowledge of her corpse.
The incident occurred on Monday, October 29 at their rented apartment located at 8B, Market Road, Ologbo community, along Benin-Sapele road, in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State.
Oghenekporboro was said to have strangled his mum before sleeping with her corpse while expecting money to magically appear.
The victims’ aged mother, Mrs Maria Gabriel, discovered the sordid affair when she went to invite her daughter to a nearby church for prayer around 6 am.
After knocking several times and getting no response, she decided to peep into the apartment to check if anyone was around.
However, she saw the suspect sleeping with his mum’s lifeless body and raised the alarm.
On seeing that his act had been discovered, Oghenekporboro was said to have attempted to flee but was apprehended by neighbours.
When policemen visited the scene of the incident, they reportedly found semen-stained pants belonging to Oghenekporboro and his late mum.
According to the Edo State Police Command, the suspect will be charged to court soon.
