The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has said that its operatives arrested two internet fraud suspects at the Lekki, Lagos residence of singer, John Njeng Njeng, popularly known as Skales.

The commission disclosed this in a statement released on Tuesday.

Skales had taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to rain insults on the anti-graft agency and its operatives for invading his home at night and at gunpoint.

He said that the EFCC operation left his six months baby and its mother scared.

The singer added his daughter cried for hours after the invasion ended.

In one of his X posts, the singer shared a photo of his child and said, “Because of (the EFCC), the mother of my child was scared and mistakenly dropped my daughter … the fam(ily) didn’t want to let me know.

“They are just telling me now cos I for run mad.”

The EFCC statement read, “Operatives of the Lagos Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 arrested two suspected internet fraudsters at House F10, Victoria Crest 4, Lekki, Lagos.

“The suspects: Udemba Chukwuemeka (a.k.a Jody) and Jamal Jamiu Onasola (a.k.a. Jamal) were arrested at the residence of a musician: John Njeng Njeng (a.k.a sales).

“The two suspects, suspected of being involved in dating scam, described Njeng as their “mentor”.

“While Chukwuemeka has been in Njeng’s residence for two years, Onasola has only stayed there for few months.

“They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.”

Meanwhile, in one of his X posts, Skales said that the two persons arrested at his residence only came to help him make music.

“The EFCC alleged that they found “things” in the phones of the two people they arrested who came to make music with me. One escorted the producer I’m working with to my house and the other is an artist im helping to shape his career…,” he said.
