Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has won his reelection bid with total of 595,582 votes.
Lalong, who ran under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), defeated Jeremiah Useni, his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rival, who secured 546,813 votes in the election.

Richard Kirmbi, the returning officer for the election, announced the result at the Independent National Electoral Commissioner (INEC) head office in Plateau in the early hours of Sunday.
Recall that INEC had declared the March 9 election inconclusive based on the number of cancelled votes being higher than the margin between the two leading candidates in the election.
The rerun election took place across nine local government areas of the state.
