Barcelona endured its most humiliating game in a long while at the Stadio Olympico on Tuesday night as they were bungled out of the UEFA Champions League by AS Roma.
Ernesto Valverde’s side played obviously their worst game of the season yet and they got punished for it.
The Blaugrana had gone into the tie with a 4-1 advantage secured at the Camp Nou last Wednesday and most had expected them to stroll to the semi final.
That was not to be however as Eusebio Di Francesco’s men totally outplayed them and advanced to the last four instead.
Edin Dzeko grabbed Roma’s first goal of the game in the 6th minute before Daniele scored a 58th minute penalty and Konstantinos Manolas buried the deciding goal eight minutes from time.
Roma’s 3-0 win ensured they qualified on away goal rule after grabbing a vital goal in last Wednesday’s 4-1 loss in Spain.
