Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has mocked Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State, who burst into tears on Monday while lamenting the devastation caused by Boko Haram in his state to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Shettima told Buhari that his coming as Commander-in-Chief had been expected to end the Boko Haram insurgency in the state and restore its “traditional glory” as home of peace.

But Fani-Kayode, who took to his verified Twitter handle on Tuesday, said Shettima’s tears would keep flowing until he “confesses” about the role he played in the abduction of the Chibok girls during the administration of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.
“The Governor of Borno wept about the plight of his people in the hands of Boko Haram during a meeting with Buhari.
“The truth is until he confesses about the role he played in the abduction of the Chibok girls and tells us why he and friends started Boko Haram his tears will flow,” Fani-Kayode said.

At least 276 girls were kidnapped by Boko Haram extremists on April 14, 2014, an incident which led to claims and counterclaims between Shettima and the Jonathan administration.
In his popular book, “My Transition Hours”, Jonathan accused Shettima of using the Chibok girls kidnapping to blackmail his administration.
But reacting, Shettima said, “The Chibok school girls affair, in Chapter four of the book, ‘My Transition Hours’ did not represent the true account in the situation.”
