Ali modu Sheriff is showing resilience in his current fight for power within the PDP. Even after a court order upholding his sacking as national chairman of the PDP, the veteran politician has unveiled his gubernatorial candidate for the upcoming Edo state elections.
His candidate Matthew Iduoriyekwemwen has even submitted his form to INEC and has picked a running mate in ex-National Woman Leader of the PDP, Herbetta Okonofua.
This would mean that two PDP factions will have two candidates for the Edo elections with there being a candidate for the Makarfi led faction of the PDP.
Sheriff has said that he would rely on last week’s judgment by Justice Okon Abang of Federal High Court in Abuja to present Iduoriyekwemwen as a candidate and he believes he would be recognized.
