Former Kaduna Senator, Shehu Sani has warned against taking sides in the ongoing Israel-Palestine crisis as the war between Hamas and Israeli forces continues to escalate.
The Herald reports that Shehu Sani issued the warning in a tweet via his official X handle on Monday, suggesting that it was time to de-escalate and go back to the peace table and resolve an outstanding UN resolution.
Sani wrote: “Isreal and Palestinian Conflict; Time to de-escalate and go back to the Peace table and Implement all the outstanding UN resolutions. Standing with this and standing with that will not solve the problem; it’s in fact a major contributor to the problem. With Over a thousand killed, it’s time to end the occupation and let peace reign.”

The Herald recalls that members of the Hamas sect in the early hours of Saturday, attacked Israeli cities. However, the President Bola Tinubu-led government had earlier called for a ceasefire, urging the conflicting parties to explore peaceful means to resolve the ongoing crisis.
However, nations like the United States, Russia, and Ukraine have strongly condemned the unprovoked attacks on Israeli communities.
On his part, former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode suggests that the world was gearing closer to a third world war, alleging that those fueling the ongoing conflict had conceived it long ago.
Shehu Sani’s remark comes as the number of casualties from the recent battle has surpassed 1,000 and has continued to grow in the wake of Israeli reprisal attacks.
