Shatta Wale Shifts Focus to Wealth Accumulation Over Performing at O2 Arena

2 Min Read

Renowned Ghanaian dancehall artist, Shatta Wale, has revealed that his current aspiration is to amass a substantial amount of wealth rather than aiming to perform at the legendary O2 Arena like many other musicians. Speaking during a recent Twitter Space session hosted by Ghanaian media personality Serwaa Amihere, the musician shared his perspective on his achievements and goals in the music industry.

Shatta Wale

Shatta Wale expressed that he believes he has already accomplished significant milestones in the music business, and he no longer feels the need to conform to others’ expectations. He stated that he is not concerned about external perceptions and that he is content with his accomplishments. According to him, his main goal as an entertainer is to accumulate a considerable amount of money in his bank account.

Addressing the topic of promoting Ghana abroad, Shatta Wale expressed his reservations. He cited the lack of support he has received from Ghanaians, claiming that he has been unfairly labeled as a drug addict by his fellow countrymen. Due to these negative sentiments, he questioned why he should invest his efforts in promoting Ghana abroad when he is not adequately appreciated at home.

He emphasized his perspective by stating,

You people call me a drug addict, why should I risk my life to fill a place for Ghanaians or the music industry? I am okay, I wanted to buy houses, lands, and investments, I am okay, so filling the O2 is not my priority, my priority is to keep a billion dollars in my account, that is where I am at right now.”

Shatta Wale also addressed the discussion around his ability to fill the O2 Arena, asserting that his primary focus remains on his financial goals rather than performing at the iconic venue. He referenced his successful performance at the Accra Sports Stadium and expressed his viewpoint on the Ghanaian music industry.
